I have been working at TechO2 for the past 10 months Regarding the organization, One has to take a bird's eye view to understand what it is all about. There are many positives here. Have you ever seen a CEO clarifying doubts and giving highly precise and pointed inputs to a level 1 employee? Have you ever had conversations with the top management regarding IT markets, governments, international policies, etc which give a lot of insights into how the domain is going to be in the current fiscal year? These kind of things usually happen in top notch organizations, that is the kind of environment that is maintained here. I have myself had a job offer with a 60% hike on my current salary(at 6 months here) but I did not go, even if it was from a company like HCL. Do you know why? There was a time when the company faced financial troubles, even in such a situation, not even 1 employee was sacked. Everyone was given partial salary i.e. 50% salary every month and after some time the CEO sold his home to pay all the dues and salaries of the employees. Can you truthfully say that any other person would sell their home to feed 40 odd families? What does that indicate. It indicates the values of a person, the kind of leadership that should be there. From a learning perspective, I am learning so many things that I will not be able to learn in a bigger organization. I will be a resource with a complete stack of knowledge in my domain. How many IT employees out there can guarantee that they everything from their domain, to sustain themselves in the market? These are some basic questions that one has to think about. I have had multiple instances in multiple conversations with the top management when I could clearly see where I need to be with respect to skill levels, knowledge, and precision. The top management follows open door policy where any employee can converse with them for any reason. Where can you find such a culture? One of the reasons for keeping freshers for a longer period would be the investment of the company in them. The company provides a great platform to learn multiple skills, it would not expect them to leave after they learn that. After we plant a sapling, do all the toil to make it a tree. One would obviously expect fruits from it. It is no different here as well. But for the learning curve that one gains here, a stay of 3 years is nothing. I am not saying there are no negatives here but the positives out weigh the negatives by a long margin. All these factors played an important role with sticking with the company and why I respect it more. It is companies like these that make it big in the long run. Of course, one can point out a few negative points here and there but the core values and the culture will always take over them. It is not just the will but the efforts that go along with the will that make results happen. I would like to quote Bruce Lee here. "Knowing is not enough, we must apply. Willing is not enough, we must do." There is a lot of meaning in that sentence. Bruce Lee was not an exceptional man, he was a man who was in tune with the generation whereas most of us lag behind. We must always learn and inculcate the good that we see in others and not point out mistakes. If you see history, the person who never complains is the one that succeeds. It is one of the great secrets to success. I can guarantee that with these values and leadership this company will reach great heights, it may take some time to reach there but it will surely do....
