7yThanks for the feedback and I am glad you enjoyed the perks while working at TextNow!
I am a first time CEO and I'm learning on the job. You are definitely right about the "inexperience" part. I am transparent about that with my team and I always invite everyone to give me feedback to help me become a better leader - either face to face or through a 360 process.
I've also definitely made my fair share mistakes (like all other new leaders). There has been times a long time ago my communication style may come across being a jerk. While my intentions were positive, we have a core value - No Brilliant Jerks - I have to stay true to. I apologize if I did anything to make you feel uncomfortable. I do have a leadership coach (so do many of our other leaders) and I am constantly working on improving my leadership and communication skills.
On top of that, we've brought in many great (and experienced) leaders into the organization we can learn from!
The "class" system you mentioned is simply not true and I am going to list some facts here:
-Developers, managers, marketing staff, product management staff, fulfillment staff, customer support staff, et al. are entitled to all the same perks you mentioned in the review
-We had multiple employees from customer support and fulfillment move on to other roles in our organization: Product Management, Marketing, QA
-There was no turnover in the support & fulfillment function (except for people moving to other roles in our org) in 2018
We invest a lot in growth in our employees and we pride ourselves in giving everyone honest feedback regularly through 1:1s. Our employees are anything but "easily disposed of".
We're a company that is open to criticism and feedback in any forum, but it will be helpful (for us and the community at Glassdoor) if you back your claims with facts that are truthful.
PS: I'm sure you can find at least one worse company in Kitchener/Waterloo to work for!
