Mission driven, really nice and supportive coworkers overall, everyone seems to really care about what we are doing. My manager cares about work-life balance, but that's luck of the draw. A few things about working here that are important to me and I love, but I wouldn't remain anonomous...

(My experience is about administrative staff, not floor staff of museum) My personally experience is with a manager who is an extreme micromanager and who doesnt have any sense about how they come across to people or make the staff under them feel crappy when they mistreat them. Leadership doesnt seem to grasp the realities of worklife for the staff under them. The pay rates are terrible and they are ridiculously reluctant to give raises or promote unless someone leaves and they are up against it and need to fill a spot. Depending on your manager and department, your pay rate could be wildly different than other people who are your same level (ironically that is what they use to tell you cant have a raise, saying they pay the same level the same, hoping you dont have any friends in other departments to be able to compare data). There are a few people in management positions who are seriously overpaid and over-titled (if that's a thing) because they are connected to family in silicon valley who are connected folks, it's hard to figure out what these people do all day and how they get the salary and title they do, other than their connections.
