You may cherish the connection you build with some of your clients. You can use the position as a stepping stone to gain experience in human services. You are not tied to a computer and desk all day, you work in the field primarily.
Minpunten
Inadequate training. Nightmare clients that are not reprimanded when abusive. Low pay ($33 per appointment but it is hard to build a caseload) and management is not transparent about that upon hire. Many clients demand you meet with them outside of your availability. Unreasonable demand to handle more paperwork and respond to emails while out in the field. Many clients already unhappy with the service before you're assigned. Employees encouraged not to leave case notes, unaware of problematic clients when assigned. Management does not respond empathetically when you experience violence. Unprofessional communication between staff and leadership.
