There can be some fun times in regards to parties and the benefits are admittedly not bad.

Minpunten

The website is terrible. On most of the forums 70-90 percent of the content is users posting lies about one another. There isn't enough staff to even remotely touch on the problems that plague the website and to work for a company that justifies this behavior can be frankly sickening. You go home at night and realize you work for a company that promotes bad behavior, gossip, people's marriages being ruined and at one time drug sales and other indecent things.

I have been at Topix for over 6 years now (longer than any of my previous jobs in the valley) and I continue to be impressed. Topix offers above average wages and a relaxed atmosphere that has the feel of a start-up but the flexibility that doesn't force you to choose between your social life and your career. Topix has full benefits, stocked kitchen, employee stock grants, and performance bonuses. Overall it is a great place to work and, with the company expanding its reach beyond the initial news aggregator/hyper-local forum business, it is a very exciting time to be a part of the team.

Minpunten

The commute from SF can be dreadful at times. Occasional work from home days become necessary just to recharge from drive-time stress.
