A rep is assigned to a Vertical business category and can only prospect in named accounts in that vertical. I only had 220 prospects to call on and was expected to make 200 touches (Phone/email) a week to this group! You spend all your time trying to talk to the same people. Eventually some prospects blocked my number! Also, you essentially have to pay someone to train you for the first year or so. You give up half your revenue and commissions to this person. I sold enough to make President's Club my first year but because of the rev share, my mentor made it and I did not. Mentors can be helpful, but expensive! My team had about 8 people, 3 were top performers, they mentored the new hires and got half the commission from these reps. It worked out great for those who could survive and benefit from having new people prospecting and splitting deals with you. A very low % of reps make it past 18 months, constant churn. Basically, it boils down to a near impossible situation, few prospects to call on, too many reps in the market, having to pay someone to train you. The nature of PEOs also leads to frustration of having deals declined for Benefits or the Benefits are too expensive. I would recommend you avoid this company as a sales rep unless you just want to collect a base and find a better job
