Pluspunten

Commission, if they pay you properly, is average for the industry. W2 with benefits, but health insurance and 401k are not good. Vision is partially free. Dental cleanings are free. Training pay is there, but only as a tool to get people on board. Has control of the Home Depot contract now after Sunnova filed for bankruptcy. For a solar company, having an accredited A+ rating with 31 years in business is hard to come by. Can leverage this in states where they are not twice the roofing cost and solar cash/loan cost of everyone else.

Minpunten

So many issues over my two years there. Do not be fooled by W2 and training pay. The training pay is a trap to get you in the door. I recommend using them to get leads, but bringing business elsewhere when applicable. They permanently closed down FL, then I transferred to NH, and they did the same thing. Owned by TSG (private equity). The CEO recently stepped down. The commission changes and reductions 3 times in two years. Most expensive roofing quotes in MA. Most expensive solar quotes for loans or cash in MA. Terrible, greedy management. Messed up on my pay at least 30+ times (no, I am not joking). It was a battle to get paid on commissions earned. Management constantly lies and gaslights employees. Most of the people on the MA teams are selling for other companies simultaneously, as they are fed up with Trinity. TSG is pushing Trinity to become more of a home improvement company instead of a solar company. Siding, windows, and doors are Trinity's future. Although they are called Trinity, THEY ARE NOT a Christian company. For example, this is the only solar company that I have heard of that goes after sales reps that leave (literally takes them to court) if they get people to leave the company or if they bring over their customers that they would never get paid on. They do not care if it is your mother's house. They will take you to court if they find out you moved your own customers over. Trinity outreach program (lead generators) is the WORST in the industry. They are literally trained by upper management and VPs to lie to customers in order to get the appointment. Sales reps are told "a lead is a lead" and "there is no such thing as a dq," etc. Lead generators tell customers that it is a "no-cost solar program" that is completely covered by the government, property taxes, social security, etc. They will say things like the appointment is 5 minutes, and we are there to drop off paperwork. The outreach program is completely out of control. They make a 35k to 50k salary, and the majority of their commission is based on cancellations at the door and sits. The outreach leadership constantly creates fraud and reverses no shows to cancellations at the doors, or sits to make sure they can keep their jobs. There is no type of quality or expectations set from outreach, and on the sales side, the leadership is cowardly as they do not want to cause any issues, so they can keep collecting their salaries and bonuses. There were many cases of me not being paid proper commissions or bonuses, even on PTO. This company is robbing, deceiving, and not taking care of its sales reps. At any other solar company, we all know that the sales rep is what keeps the business going. The sales reps are not appreciated or coveted. The amount of extra work you will have to do beyond the sale is truly astonishing, even with an assistant. Sales operations are constantly falling behind and not doing their jobs. You even have to do your own site surveys. Accounting won't answer the phone to collect payment, and operations won't send out change orders when you ask them to, but come to you 90 days after the install and demand that you do their job for them. I can go on and on, but I will end it here. Yes, Trinity Solar was a good company back in the day (location depending), but they have completely lost the plot. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

Pluspunten

There used to be more positive to working here but under the new CEO they have taken everything away from their long standing employees.

Minpunten

One of the biggest issues is pay. Employees who have been here for years who know the job inside and out are often making the same as (or less than) brand new hires who are just coming in with little to no experience. It’s frustrating and honestly pretty discouraging when your time, effort, and knowledge don’t seem to be valued. It also feels like the teams doing the bulk of the day-to-day work and making sure everything runs smoothly aren’t compensated fairly for the workload they carry. Raises and improvements to benefits are limited, even for those who consistently go above and beyond. At the same time, there’s a clear difference in how departments are treated. Sales teams are rewarded with trips, events, and strong financial incentives, while internal teams, who play a huge role in actually driving success for this company, don’t see the same level of recognition or pay. It creates a pretty big disconnect. What makes it harder is that the company promotes a very positive, upbeat culture, but that doesn’t always match the reality employees experience day to day. Over time, this discourages a lot of employees from wanting to remain here.
