Weekly pay, directly deposited, paid training hours, promoting from within, uniform shirts/hats/aprons supplied, free food, senior and employee discount . Depending on general manager/assistant ...friendly, fun, caring working atmosphere.

When I began working for white castle the starting pay for a team member was significantly more than minimum wage! When minimum wage was increased to $7.25 the company did not increase the starting wage. Over the last 5 years the company has moved away from the basic ideas this company was built on. For the first time since 1921 money has been borrowed to build new stores! employees are no longer treated as family... with less concern for the team members ability to take care of their family on the wages provided and restructuring the annual team member bonus(while not guaranteed but has been paid every year except during the depression ) to a mere 1/4 of what was paid previously, less tolerable of serious health issues, work/home life balance, little or no concern for happiness in the workplace, poor pay for new hires resulting in poor quality team member applicants. Hiring mainly based on computerized scoring system instead of relying on the knowledge of upper management. Long term retention is no longer a goal and has resolved to become a part time school student based employer. the customers are suffering due to the above issues along with higherroduct cost, severe labor cuts with higher, unreasonable team member expectations and an ever expanding menu.
