Our local management told me and other subs to pay for materials the salesperson didn’t order promising they’ll reimburse and they do not. They don’t know what way is up, frequent turnaround of employees throughout three warehouses in our local area leaving higher ups not knowing whats going but expect the work to still be completed. The sales people do not know how to properly measure windows and doors there are significant mismeasured that are unable to be installed, orwasting time and money for both the subs and the customers. Or, they require such extensive work to fit that they urge the subs to do the work and ‘be reimbursed.’ I’m still waiting over 3 months after completed jobs. They will schedule a sub to go to a customers house without confirming with the customer. I’ve had multiple times where I drove the hour plus to get to the warehouse, load up their windows and materials, then when calling to notify the customer of my estimated arrival time, they’re on vacation or never even knew it was scheduled, wasting my time and gas and money. Our local WW automatically charges customers for lead paint if the house is older than 1980, but don’t actually test for lead, and lead installs are significantly more expensive. I personally tested minimum of 4 houses charged as lead and only 1 actually had lead paint. But they were charged every window as lead, only changing the price for only one customer because they kept the test swab and showed them there was no lead. They do not pay subs enough to cover the materials needed for lead installs(I had to pay out of pocket for the certification and ALL material for lead jobs) let alone the actual cost of the additional work with doing lead safe practices. They short subcontractors pay without explanation, The local higher ups have been ignoring my attempts to recover the money owed to my business due to their shortchanging the contracted amounts reflected in their labor sheet & payout sheet (for example: their labor sheet amount equaled $1,000, they’d pay $980 and give no explanation for the $20 difference) or telling me to invoice work/material and not paying that. they sell customers new windows, even if they are not needed. Most windows i installed were previously installed windows from WW, that could’ve been covered by the warranties, like broken sashes. Customers were not made aware of the options, they were just told they needed new, more expensive windows. There were so many wrong windows ordered for customers, by a lot. For example, a customer would order a triple pane, grid pattern double hung, and the employee ordered a double panes, glazed window and still expect the customer to okay the install of incorrect windows. Customers I installed for would call the warehouses and get ignored for weeks on end, get spoken to in no way a customer should, and overall would complain about their interactions with WW to me, and now i understand why.
