High expectation, good pay, competent but kind coworkers

Could be overworked at times

Great exposure to the world of publishing and gave me the invaluable experience of working with high-profile authors/celebrities and book franchises. Weekly meetings to check in with my supervisor regarding projects and my overall experience. The culture was great! Especially for a company with multiple locations (HQ is Nashville), I think HR did a wonderful job at creating company-wide initiatives and internal communications.

As is the case with many internships, it was a lot of data entry and down time. Sometimes I felt like a nuisance asking for more to do, especially because the team was so busy and they didn't want to take the time to teach me new things. There were no other interns at the Grand Rapids location. It would have been nice to have a peer to relate to or have shared experiences with. I was told it was a summer position, so I had work lined up for the fall. In my last week I gave a presentation and they asked me if I wanted to stay on... I totally would have if I knew that was an option and that had been communication earlier!
