Pluspunten
Nice, supportive co-workers; half-day fridays; professional development encouraged and monetarily supported (if you ask); solid vacation time for a US-based company
Minpunten
• Constantly changing, highly reactionary vision of products, responsibilities, and goals for such a small organization. Can be draining. • Leadership is rarely on the same page and pulls the company in different directions. What doesn’t help is those who are supposed to make high-level decisions collectively are in the office/working less than half the time. • Further, and unfortunately, they can be toxic and moody. Have expressed wanting employees to compete against one another instead of collaborate, even openly talking negatively about recently exited employees. • Absolutely zero onboarding! Hard to have new hires succeed without guidance. People can get fired for not “performing” under unclear, nonexistent, and/or arbitrary guidelines. • No HR, like, at all. If you have a problem you can tell it to the toilet when you inevitably cry in the bathroom! • Challenging and sometimes abusive customer base and a product no one wants to pay for, making it hard or impossible to feel like you’re making a positive impact on them or society writ large. • Compensation improved slightly but has been *laughably* low, especially during the highest Seattle rent hikes and exploded CoL. Most full-time non-developer employees need side gigs to simply make ends meet.
