I recently went through the interview process with the American Marketing Association and it was a great experience. Interviewing for a new position can be difficult, but the AMA made the process easy. The virtual interview allowed me the time to think about how to best answer the questions and the time needed to record a video. This was an advantage over a first interview being in-person, as it was convenient and not constrained by time. Each question was focused on my profession and allowed me to share more about my experience. The HR team was extremely supportive and provided abundant communication that detailed the process so that I knew what to expects next. Most importantly for job seekers, they also gave time frames for when I would hear back about moving on through each step of the process.

The interview process with AMA was extremely unique. It was different from any other interview I have ever had. The entire process consisted of a one-way video interview of questions followed by a phone screening with HR and finally a 2.5 hour interview with various members of the team. While this sounds daunting, it was actually really great. The entire process felt intentional and timely. The video portion was entirely new to me but I really appreciated being able to answer questions in my own time prior to meeting with the team. I wish more companies took this approach.
