Our very own Shiv Shah’s been shortlisted as a finalist for Accountancy Age’s ‘35 under 35’! For our industry, this is a big deal. Every year, young professionals within the Accountancy & Business Advisory space are nominated and shortlisted based on significant and innovative contributions they’ve made both in their careers and for their firms. Shiv, M&A Director, joined us at TC Group back in February 2024. His role within the business has meant he’s paved the way in terms of M&A growth and has been responsible for finding partner firms to join our Group, and support our existing firms on their own acquisition strategies. Since joining, and with the support of his M&A colleagues, Shiv’s introduced 21 new businesses and firms into the Group where we can offer incoming Partners, colleagues and clients the support and reach of a national firm, whilst still retaining the local service delivery model that best supports our local communities. In the backdrop of significant consolidation that has disrupted the traditional earnings model in our profession, Shiv has championed TC Group’s purpose-led business model which rewards ambition and entrepreneurship. 🚚 Our Southampton office has moved! Last month our Southampton team said goodbye to Ocean Village Innovation Centre and moved into their new space at New Kings Court, Tollgate. Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge completed. ✅ With over 30 participants across 10 offices, our team challenged themselves to take part in the Yorkshire 3 Peaks challenge on Saturday 30 May. The challenge included a 24 mile (38.6km) round-trip hiking route and a 1585m (5200ft) ascent taking you over the spectacular peaks of Pen-y-Ghent (694 metres), Whernside (736 metres) and Ingleborough (723 metres). ⛰️ Most of them had trained, whilst others braved the challenge through confidence alone... With over 5.8 million unpaid carers in the UK, we wanted to take the time to celebrate Carers Week. 🧡 Whether it’s a parent, partner, child, sibling, wider family member, or even a friend, unpaid carers face many challenges – especially if still working full time. This year’s theme is ‘Caring About Equality’. Unpaid carers face a higher risk of poverty, social isolation, as well as poorer mental and physical health, and this greatly impacts women in particular with them making up for around 80% of unpaid carers (sources below). Sometimes this means people’s personal lives, education, or even career is impacted. 3 out of 5 people in the UK will become carers at some point in their lives, which’s why it’s important to have a support system around you. Not everyone feels comfortable disclosing personal circumstances to line managers and colleagues, and if you’re one of those people, we’ve provided support resources below. We’d like to take this opportunity to recognise the contributions and personal sacrifices made to ensure they look after their loved ones. So to all employees across TC Group, you’re valued and respected for all that you do.
