Great to see the recent publication of results from the HERO-Together Study, a multi-year, prospective study to understand the long-term safety of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine (BNT162b2), co-authored by researchers from Duke University, Pfizer and Verily Health. We are proud to have contributed to this effort by developing the secure, participant-facing portal that powered the study's clinical data management and enabled a high-engagement, longitudinal approach to collecting safety information. The results support a favorable long-term safety profile of BNT162b2 in real-world settings.
Our CEO Stephen Gillett’s experience at Chronicle, a cybersecurity moonshot that started at X, The Moonshot Factory, underscored a crucial lesson: technology alone is not enough. When it comes to AI workflows in both cybersecurity and health, you need to apply “human-in-the loop” thinking, knowing what signals you’re looking for and designing systems with the right notifications to be successful.
Agentic AI for enterprise health care remains primarily in the back office rather than at the bedside. According to a recent American Medical Association survey*, 81% of physicians now use AI in their practice, but mostly for administrative workflows, even though 76% see an advantage to using AI tools in patient care. Only 17% of physicians reported use of AI for assistive diagnosis and the reported use for patient-facing recommendations was much lower. ✨ What will it take for us to embrace the role of AI as part of the patient’s care team?
The National Institutes of Health (NIH) All of Us Research Program has over 881,000 participants and 22,800 researchers partnering to accelerate research advances and precision medicine. In collaboration with Vanderbilt University Medical Center, we are proud to power the recently updated Researcher Workbench using Verily Workbench on our secure precision health platform, Pre. Researchers have access to the most advanced tools to unlock insights from the dataset, which includes whole genome sequences, electronic health records, and more.
Join Verily Health and our partners Transcripta Bio, Segmed, Inc., and RefinedScience to discover a seamless path from data discovery to insight. In our upcoming webinar, "Accelerating research with multimodal datasets on Verily Exchange," we will showcase how combining Verily’s AI-native Pre infrastructure with unique, specialized datasets solves key use cases across the drug development lifecycle. What you’ll learn: • Navigating the discovery engine: Understand how Verily’s AI-native Pre platform streamlines the path from data discovery to insights • Exploring specialized datasets: Get an inside look at AI-ready datasets for neurology, oncology, and hematology-oncology. 📅 Wednesday, May 27, 2026 🕙 10 am PT / 1 pm ET
How do you safeguard public health and an anticipated 6.5 million fans across 16 North American sites during the 2026 world soccer games? Verily Health has joined the Health Security Operations Center (HSOC), a coalition led by Georgetown University Medical Center and MedStar Health, to monitor for potential infectious disease threats. We will provide our wastewater monitoring solution, Sightline, and our trusted research environment, Workbench, as part of the initiative. Samsung Electronics America is providing researchers with tech hardware to display data and enable rapid response.
The Verily Health team is heading to Boston for the 25th Anniversary of the Bio-IT World Conference & Expo. Visit us at Booth #616 to explore how we can help you move beyond fragmented data and accelerate discovery. We will showcase Verily Pre, our AI-native platform for precision health, and demonstrate how Verily Workbench acts as an intuitive Trusted Research Environment (TRE) to enable research speed, scale, and integrity. Book a meeting to experience Pre.
Verily Health began as a moonshot at Google X, The Moonshot Factory in 2015 with the mission to make the world's health data useful. Our CEO Stephen Gillett sat down with Astro Teller on The Moonshot Podcast to discuss our vision for continuing that mission to bring the promise of precision healthcare to everyone, every day. Watch the interview to learn more about Verily’s vision, Verily’s strengths as both a health tech and care company, and the similarities between the future of healthcare and self-driving cars.
Stephen Gillett, CEO of Verily Health, recently sat down with Investment Reports to discuss how the future of healthcare will be shaped by making data truly usable for AI. He speaks to how we’ve sharpened our focus around this central idea, building our precision health platform, Pre, with the capabilities needed to organize, structure, and apply healthcare data across research, care delivery, and public health. Across this work, we hold the core belief that healthcare transformation requires more than technology alone. It depends on the integration of clinical, regulatory, quality, and ethical expertise alongside advanced AI. We’re excited to continue building toward a more predictive, personalized, and accessible healthcare system.
Most predictive health models only use EHR data. Our partnership with NVIDIA created Forecast 1.0, a multimodal foundation model that integrates genomics and EHR data to accelerate precision medicine research. The result: A 15.5% relative increase in T2D prediction performance and a 3x increase in model pre-training efficiency using NVIDIA's AI stack in Verily Workbench. 📄 Download the whitepaper.
