Over de job

Als Mechatronics Engineer bij LAB Motion Systems heb je een zeer veelzijdige en uitdagende rol waarin je jouw passie voor mechatronics volledig kunt inzetten. Na een leertraject neem je namelijk het voortouw in onze projecten, waarbij je verantwoordelijk bent voor het ontwerp, de mechanica, elektronica en controle van bewegingssystemen op zeer hoog precisieniveau. Calculaties, simulaties en prototyping maken ook deel uit van je werk. Dit doe je in nauwe samenwerking met het Application Engineering Team, het R&D Team en het Productieteam.

Verantwoordelijkheden

• Je vervult een technische rol in onze product developmentprojecten, waarbij je ontwerpen maakt met behulp van 3D CAD-software.
• Je bent verantwoordelijk voor technische calculaties en simulaties voor de aan jou toegewezen projecten.
• Je werkt hands-on tijdens de assemblage van de eerste prototypes.
• Je neemt deel aan metrologische testen en validatie van de machines die je ontwerpt en bouwt.
• Je bent verantwoordelijk voor de ontwikkeling en optimalisatie van bestaande en nieuwe producten.
• Je ondersteunt je teamlead, vanaf de eerste klantcontacten tot en met de levering van de prototypes, de validatiefase en de opschalingsfase naar een sterke serieproductie.
• Je houdt ogen en oren open voor kansen om onze producten, processen en werkwijzen te verbeteren. Daarvoor werk je aan verbetervoorstellen, ontwikkel je technische oplossingen en implementeer je deze.

Vaardigheden

• Master in engineering (bij voorkeur werktuigbouwkunde, elektromechanica of elektrotechniek).
• Ervaring is geen vereiste, wel zoeken we iemand met een passie voor mechatronica en machinebouw, de juiste motivatie en resultaatgerichtheid.
• Kennis van industriële aandrijvingen zoals ACS, ELMO en Aerotech is een plus
• Je kan overweg met professionele CAD-software (bij voorkeur Inventor)
• Kennis van of affiniteit met programmeren in C/C++, Python, MATLAB, SIMULINK en LabVIEW is een pluspunt
• Je hebt een bijzondere interesse in (precisie) machineontwerp, machinebouw en berekeningen/simulaties (structureel, thermisch, FEA en analytische berekeningen)
• Je bent leergierig, hands-on en een creatieve teamspeler
• Je bent een sterke communicator, zowel in het Engels als in het Nederlands
• Je blinkt uit in het nemen van ownership over je projecten.

About the Role

As a Mechatronics Engineer at LAB Motion Systems, you will have a highly versatile and challenging role in which you can fully apply your passion for mechatronics. After a training period, you will take the lead in our projects, being responsible for the design, mechanics, electronics, and control of motion systems at an ultra-high precision level. Your work will also include calculations, simulations, and prototyping. You will work in close collaboration with the Application Engineering Team, the R&D Team, and the Production Team.

Responsibilities

• Take on a technical role in our product development projects, creating designs using 3D CAD software.
• Perform technical calculations and simulations for the projects assigned to you.
• Work hands-on during the assembly of the first prototypes.
• Participate in metrological testing and validation of the machines you design and build.
• Be responsible for the development and optimization of both existing and new products.
• Support your team lead from the first customer contact through to prototype delivery, validation, and the scaling phase towards strong series production.
• Stay alert for opportunities to improve our products, processes, and workflows. Work on improvement proposals, develop technical solutions, and implement them.

Skills

• Master’s degree in engineering (preferably mechanical, electromechanical, or electrical).
• Experience is not required; we are looking for someone with a passion for mechatronics and machine building, strong motivation, and a results-oriented mindset.
• Knowledge of industrial drives such as ACS, ELMO, and Aerotech is a plus.
• Proficient in professional CAD software (preferably Inventor).
• Knowledge of or affinity with programming in C/C++, Python, MATLAB, SIMULINK, and LabVIEW is a plus.
• Strong interest in (precision) machine design, machine building, and calculations/simulations (structural, thermal, FEA, and analytical calculations).
• Eager to learn, hands-on, and a creative team player.
• Strong communicator, both in English and Dutch.
• Excellent at taking ownership of your projects.
