Pluspunten
Having worked in more than one AECOM OpCo and in several AECOM offices, I've noticed some of the general better and worse qualities: 1. great benefits (monthly travel allowance, good insurance, and a $3k bonus for referring someone? Yes, please!) 2. clear hierarchy where upwards mobility as an employee is apparent 3. community outreach programs and scholarship opportunities (AECOM will pay for classes, there's a school/work program in the UK, and scholarships offered for children of employees) 4. you can transfer from one office to another across the globe and stay with the same company due to the extensive opportunities 5. well monitored and communicated performance management system so that you can discuss your goals with your manager, come up with concrete ways to improve, etc. 6. once reported, deals swiftly and severely with anything perceived as an ethical violation of conduct (and there's an anonymous hotline to report violations of the code of conduct) 7. fun social events! 8. AECOM World Weekly updates at least show that the company as a whole is trying to get everyone involved and interested in AECOM (not sure how many people actually read these though)
Minpunten
1. there is a great variety between the operations of different offices, with some being better than others 2. promotions are not always well-justified; additionally, should do more to promote from within rather than getting new people from the outside 3. some offices do not follow corporate policies as well as they should (ex: not letting staff know that they can adjust their hours during Ramadan to facilitate fasting, work from home, etc.) 4. management decisions on an office level do not always make sense (sp. office structure -- reporting lines are sometimes confusing and there seems to be a lot of really senior staff)
