Pluspunten

The ability to set your own hours is great. I am able to take time when I need it to see my kids activities. Get to meet a lot of interesting people and I don't have to deal with office politics.

Minpunten

Ability to work your own hours can be a curse if you don't have good time management. It requires time to build up a base and get your pipeline full...have some cash saved.

Freedom to be your own boss, trips, bonuses, renewable income (instead of one time commission), career instead of just a job. FORTUNE 500 and a World's most Ethical Company. Great training (at least here in Wyoming) and a family mentality. Great family/work balance.

Minpunten

No base pay, can be a slow start at first, you have to be very organized and self-driven, have to be licensed in life and health to sell insurance (but my management help with the process).
