The company provides a strong, defined career path for young new hires (although older hires struggle to be recognized for their contributions and commitment). The company also offers a broad and robust learning and development program.

Minpunten

The phrase "if you're not Dutch, you're not much" has never been more true than it is now. Local (as in North American) employees are leaving at an astonishing rate - numerous in Q1 and Q2, and a lay off announced in the last few days will further erode morale and engagement of those remaining. Dutch employees in the US are brought in to replace those who have left or been forced to leave and they rarely suffer the same fate as local employees, being airlifted out to a secure job in Holland or elsewhere when the going gets tough. Dutch people are regularly promoted while in the US, while other long standing, hi-performing employees are left in the dust. Philips Consumer Lifestyles has boosted its engagement ratings by requiring managers and supervisors to include engagement scores in their incentive-linked annual goals - employees (human nature) inflate their engagement ratings to increase their incentive payments. The people in non- upper management roles that work there are fantastic. Great sense of community onsite and the culture champions are consistently looking for ways to make work life better.

Minpunten

Very poor communication on the strategy for the business unit. Leadership publicly promotes innovation and new ideas to be presented but then those ideas are shot down or penalized in private by current upper management. The business unit leadership says that don't want excuses for project delays but will then decide to do 3 major layoffs in the first two quarters with no transition plan, no support for gap in resources and no expectations to delayed progress.
