Pluspunten
There are absolutely no pros about working at the Ritz Carlton.
Minpunten
Terrible hours, including early mornings, late nights, and every weekend and holiday. When you get hired there, they give you a 3 day orientation that makes you think that you hit the lottery, when in fact, it's a lousy job. Every time there is a renovation, pandemic, or hurricane, they lay you off, and you have to survive on $125 per week, as 90% of your income is cash tips, If you're smart, do what I did, and get a state, city, or federal job, where you make big money, retire at a young age, and you never get laid off. I only worked at the Ritz to get exercise so I could improve my finishing time at road races. If you like being supervised by 20 year old kids who can barely spell their own name and work a dead end job where the Marriott family thinks they own you, then go and work at the Ritz. But if you want to retire comfortably at age 43 with 3 pensions, gold plated family health care for life, and have a union to protect you, I would strongly suggest getting a government job.
