Last month, Caribou General Managers came together for BouCon, our energizing three-day annual conference focused on connection, learning, and, of course, making fun happen. This year’s event was about empowering our leaders with the tools and skills they need to drive strong business performance in our coffeehouses. From hands-on workshops to collaborative sessions, the focus was on growth, innovation, and leadership excellence. We also took a nostalgic trip down memory lane by way of throwback music, Trapper Keepers, a vintage photo booth, and more. Our store leaders brought their signature passion every step of the way. Caribou Coffee expands in Texas with first stand-alone coffeehouse. Caribou Coffee continues its strategic expansion with the opening of its first stand-alone coffeehouse and drive-thru in Texas, located at 5955 Rufe Snow Drive in Watauga. This marks a key milestone following recent growth in Georgia and North Carolina. The new location reflects Caribou’s commitment to sustainability by repurposing an existing QSR property, minimizing environmental impact through reduced construction and efficient design. The site includes drive-thru access, walk-up service, and outdoor seating to meet high local demand. The coffeehouse incorporates waste-reducing practices and eco-conscious materials. During grand openings, $1 from each purchase is donated to a local charity, reinforcing community support. Caribou plans continued expansion in Texas, with a Grapevine location slated for late 2025. The brand’s growth across the Southeast aligns with its mission to deliver premium coffee experiences while prioritizing environmental responsibility and operational efficiency.

A family affair: How one mother-son duo brews connection on the job Coffee has always brought people together and for this mother and son duo, working for Caribou Coffee is a special part of their bond. Working for the same company wasn’t something they planned, but Shirley and her son Mike now have about four decades of experience working at Caribou between them. Years ago, Shirley had been looking for a part-time job, so Mike introduced her to one of the Caribou store managers. When the manager heard she was Mike’s mom, Shirley was quickly recruited. There was even a time when Shirley and Mike worked under the same roof at a Caribou coffeehouse. After some time working elsewhere, Mike joined the team at the same store, and while their shifts didn’t overlap, sharing the same workplace deepened their bond.
