Landscape architecture has the power to shape how we heal, connect, and thrive. With the Saunders Center for Orthopaedics & Physical Performance, we had the opportunity to design with purpose. We’re proud to have helped transform the 330,000 sq. ft. facility at the University of Rochester Medical Center into more than just a state-of-the-art medical space, but a true healing environment. By carving out a serene, multifunctional courtyard at the heart of the facility, we created space for movement, rest, reflection, and community. Designed with both nature and therapy in mind, this landscape supports patients physically, mentally, and emotionally—proving that healing doesn’t stop at the clinic doors. We are thrilled to share that the ALCOSAN Environmental Compliance Facility and Garage has been recognized as the Engineers’ Society of Western Pennsylvania (ESWP) 2024 Environmental Project of the Year! ♻️🏆 Living up to this award, the 54,000 sf Environmental Compliance Facility and 170,000 sf Parking Garage, completed alongside AE Works Ltd. Works, was the result of our ingenious strategies and expert services, ranging from Subsurface Utility Engineering to Construction Management, implemented to improve quality of service and upgrade plant infrastructure as a part of the ALCOSAN’s ongoing multi-billion-dollar Clean Water Plan.
