As we commemorate International Women’s Day, colleagues across Sibelco from Asia-Pacific, Europe, and the Americas came together to reflect through coffee discussions, quizzes and 'thank you' walls filled with appreciation messages to show their support. We believe progress happens through everyday actions by listening, supporting one another, and creating spaces where everyone can grow and succeed. We are committed to working toward a more inclusive future. 💜

Sibelco is re-using green energy by-products for improved sustainability through the use of biomass ash in asphalt production. Biomass fly ash can replace up to 40% of limestone as a filler material in asphalt without any loss in performance. This reduces reliance on primary limestone stocks and provides a high quality sustainable application for the ash. A true win-win solution. Our Schansheide Quarry in Dessel, Belgium has been chosen as the site for an innovative floating solar panel investment. The company Floating PV will build five hectares of floating solar panels at the site, integrating innovative techniques such as solar tracking that allows the panels to rotate with the sun, an adjusting slope angle, double-sided panels and active cooling. Combined with the three wind turbines already in place, the floating solar panels will contribute to the renewable energy objectives of the Flemish region.
