Minpunten
an absolute dumpster fire of a mess. The worst job I have ever had. I would avoid at all costs. the organization is very silo’ed. You have no visibility into what other teams are doing, leadership, product, etc. sales quotas created out of thin air. No data to back them and leadership takes in no input from the sales reps. the majority of the sales team appears to be far under their quota. senior leadership is abhorrent (though we recently hired a new ceo who has a great background and seems smart, sensible, and like a good person). Many in sales leadership don’t have sales backgrounds. head of sales has never sold before. This leads to a fundamental misunderstanding of how to run a sales team, how to motivate, how to sell, who should sell what, how goals should be created, etc. No idea how we are performing - aren’t given clear success metrics outside of our quota. We don’t know what our commission is going to be until it hits our bank account. Also commissions are consistently paid late. Some reps don’t get paid at all and managers will do little to help you collect. Teams aren’t regionalzied. People are just scattered throughout the country. Causes bad client interactions and a lack of accountability. No CRM. This is especially bad because we have about five sales teams selling the same products to the same clients. Clients complain about this all the time. Creates confusion and tension internally and externally. Zero onboarding and no product training. This results in feeling totally lost and overwhelmed when you start and costs the company money because onboarding takes so long. the worst and most disrespectful manager I have ever worked for. Offers zero help/guidance, micromanages, rarely in the office office, makes my job harder by putting roadblocks in my way. - No culture. On our floor with roughly 150 desks, about 30 people show up daily. No raises. Sexual harassment and discrimination is prevalent. many older managers trying to date/hook up with nearly entry level employees. Seen some managers dating their subordinates. Many men talk down to the women - seen multiple women cry after getting yelled at. When asked about diversity the (former) ceo said he only hires talent not for diversity, which is ironic because he hired a head of sales who has never sold before. some massive pay disparities. I was paid about 100k more to do the same job as a female counterpart. Oracle specific problems - the email and calendar system is poor - have missed meetings with clients because my calendar doesn’t sync properly, forced to delete emails in my inbox every 6 months because we have an email quota we can’t exceed, expenses take a gross amount of time which takes away from time you could be working, IT will not respond to your inquiries for help, zero software or tools to help you succeed.
