Our 2021 whitepaper Natural Gas Scheduling – the Most Challenging Job in Energy highlighted that schedulers are critical to reliable energy delivery, yet many still rely on manual, fragmented tools that limit efficiency and scalability. The challenge is still present today, with the schedule role continuing to carry intense pressure and operational complexity. In their latest article, @Russell Meyer and @Glen Ragland outline a practical, phased approach to automation—helping streamline workflows, strengthen data integrity, and build greater operational resilience across trading and risk. Belgium is one of the most exposed grids in Europe to the flexibility challenge, 10 GW of solar capacity, high nuclear baseload, and cross-border export dependencies that leave almost no margin for error on sunny, low-demand days. Elia's Summer 2024 response showed what good orchestration looks like in practice. @Olga Naryzhnaya and @Nicolas Neuville paper shows how to build that capability before you need it. 👉 Full paper here: https://www.capco.com/Intelligence/Capco-Intelligence/from-predictable-to-weather-driven

In celebration of Earth Day, our CSR Capco Switzerland team came together with a dedicated group of colleagues to make a tangible impact in the heart of Zurich. Our volunteer team gathered at Platzspitz Park and joined forces to help restore this iconic green space. With great energy and team spirit, our small but highly committed group managed to cover the entire park, collecting a significant amount of waste, from bottles and cans to cardboard and hundreds of cigarette butts. This initiative shows what can be achieved when people come together with a shared purpose. We are proud of the collective effort and the visible difference we made in just a few hours. A special thank you to the City of Zurich (@Entsorgung + Recycling Zürich) for their support and collaboration. Your partnership made this effort even more impactful. And to all our colleagues who volunteered: thank you for your time, your energy, and your commitment. Together, we are taking meaningful steps toward a cleaner, greener future. 🌍
Last week in London, we brought together 70+ financial services leaders with @OpenAI for AI Beyond the Hype. The message was clear. AI has moved beyond experimentation. It is now about execution, and partnerships are critical to making that happen. Through Capco AI Labs, we demonstrated real use cases already delivering impact. From agentic data management to AI-enabled workforces, this is AI in action, not theory. A highlight was OpenAI’s showcase of voice and image-led experiences. A strong example of how agentic collaboration is accelerating what is possible in customer interaction. Thank you to @Anne-Marie Rowland , @Nicolai Skabo, Rajan Patel, @Roland Inglis, @Charlotte Byrne, Chris Rahnejat, @Chris Probert , @Rino Mura and to everyone who joined us. The hype phase is over. Now it is about delivery, together. Find out more about our AI Labs at https://www.capco.com/AI/capco-AI-labs #AI #FinancialServices #OpenAI #Partnerships #Innovation
