It was data science related role. The first round was for 30 minutes. It was about my current role and some basic questions on stats and ML algos. The 2nd round was 2 days after the first round was done. It was also around 30 minutes. It was on MS teams. The questions were around optimization techniques and ML algos. It was pretty good till this point. Now the Hr asks me to submit all marksheets and background verification form over mail. I submitted everything. Now, the Hr calls for Hr discussion after 2 weeks and the discussion goes like your current ctc is very high we can't offer you good hike for this experience. Now she told a number thats the maximum we can offer, I told okay please proceed. She asked to take an Amcat test. I took it. Entire process is over. Now , no communication. I called her 2 weeks later. We can't offer you the job because we don't have that budget. A very unprofessional way of dealing things. Just a waste of time. The HRs there don't know how to deal things. You should not proceed with the discussions even for the first round if your max offer is lower than candidate's current salary. Dumb people .

The interview process consisted of an initial HR screening followed by a technical interview. The discussion focused on my articleship experience, accounting concepts, financial reporting, reconciliation, month-end close activities, Excel skills, and behavioural questions. The interviewer was professional and the overall process was smooth.
